UPROSA was introduced in this article:
Colourful, striking, awesome... UPROSA
Now it is time for the first update, as the startup is looking for an investment in order to grow even faster. This post covers their tote bag product line, product packaging and articles about UPROSA.
What happend since the last post
A short refresher
The last post described UPROSA's business model and the founding of the startup. Young scientists can submit images to UPROSA and the startup will design products, market and ship them. Scientists get 15% of the profits.
Good bye tote bag?
As stated in the first post about UPROSA, the startup originally focussed on three different product categories: phone cases, macbook cases, and tote bags. But, at the moment they are thinking about the possibility to cease selling their tote bags. If you really love these tote bags you should tell them or order some before they cease this product line. At this point, it is not clear if they will keep the tote bag product line alive. Besides, if they want to focus on tech accessories or if there are other concerns is unclear.Product packaging
UPROSA develops new packaging
How does a customer decide which phone case to buy in retail? Right, the packaging is an important factor although it is "just" packaging. Thus, the startup started to develop a new kind of branded packaging. They even thought the packaging design through to the level at which one sort of packaging can hold many of their 25+ different phone case models. Furthermore, the packaging will have a label on the back that explains the origin of the design. For example, it could say something like: "This case's microscopic image is taken from sulfur using polarized microscopy. It was taken by Ingrid Parrington, Michigan State University".First retail prospects
With this new packaging the products seem to fit the high quality brand image. Hence, UPROSA's attempts of selling their products in retail stores have a prospect of being successful. They even found German tech accessories retailers which are interested in stocking their products. By the way, UPROSA's products can be bought on their website and they ship them worldwide.Taking over the fashion scene
Have you read about them in a fashion magazine?
Their most interesting appearance in 2016 was definitely their booth at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. But apart from this, they have been featured in both, VOGUE and GLAMOUR magazines, and in many blogs.Even TechCrunch's Fitz Tepper was not able to pass their booth at the CES without taking a short interview. You can watch it here:

Future outlook
The UPROSA team wants the startup to grow even faster, therefore they are looking for ways to gain external funding. On the one hand, this might be interested investors and on the other hand, they are planning to do a crowd funding campaign.
This is an exciting time for the startup. Surely, you will hear more soon.
