Calling attention to the beauty of young scientist's work, UPROSA takes their images and transforms them into splendid products. "Designed under the microscope" states one of their slogans.

How it began

Monetizing research

Originally searching for ways to monetize research the former Cambridge students Nikolaus Wenzl, Hind Kraytem, and Dominique Piché founded UPROSA. This startup's vision is to call attention to the work of young researchers through magnificent products.

Product range

UPROSA phone casesThe startup focusses on a few products in order to build a sustainable company: phone cases, macbook cases, and tote bags. Their phone cases are available for 25+ different phone models alone. Although they offer macbook cases, other notebooks or even tablets are not part of their portfolio right now.

UPROSA's business model

UPROSA designs products with real scientific images

How does their business work? That's easy. Young scientists and researchers can submit their images to UPROSA via this link: uprosa.com/pages/image-submission. They will even keep all the rights to their images.

Sharing 15% of the profits with the scientists

As if it would not be interesting enough, UPROSA is even sharing 15% of the profits generated with a scientist's image. Summarising, scientists can upload research-related images, UPROSA will turn them into products, marketing, sell and ship them AND you get 15% of your product's profits!

Taking over the fashion scene

You might have seen them already

In 2015 they had booths at both, the British Science Festival as well as the ASOS Graduate Marketplace. There they used the opportunity to get in direct contact with people and thereby learn about their customer's needs and wishes. UPROSA even had a booth at this year's Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas! What else does a fashion startup want?

Future outlook

At the moment the team is working to improve their packaging. As a result, they want to enhance the customer's perception of a high valued brand. Furthermore, this is their first step in bringing these awesome products into retail stores.

Hopefully, you can read more about them in this blog soon.
